While paintings bought from Tom Nook'due south store will ever be genuine, they may be duplicates of paintings already donated to the Museum. Attempting to donate 1 will trigger dialogue from Blathers in which he is surprised that in that location are 2 identical paintings, and he will speculate if one of them is a forgery.
